Key Achievements & Highlights

We have chosen to highlight the following 5 notable achievements amongst many other great strides that our school district has accomplished this year.

  1. Academic Performance

  2. 2024 Bond Referendum

  3. Transportation Services

  4. Staff Retention

  5. Williston Basin CTE Center

Academic Performance

In the 2023-2024 school year, our students demonstrated impressive academic performance across all grade levels, showcasing their dedication to learning and growth. Many students who were on grade level during fall testing made significant strides in both math and reading by spring, thanks to targeted strategies and interventions implemented by our dedicated educators.

These efforts included personalized learning plans, adaptive assessments, and focused support, all of which contributed to a supportive learning environment that nurtured student success. We will provide more detailed information on student achievement in the "Student Success & Programs" section of this report.

2024 Bond Referendum

In April,2024 our district successfully passed a bond referendum for a new elementary school designed to accommodate 600 students, reflecting our commitment to meeting the needs of our growing community.

Transportation

We expanded our transportation services by contracting with Harlow’s for the first time, significantly enhancing both efficiency and access. For the 2023-2024 school year, we increased our fleet from 14 buses in 2022-2023 (10 rural and 4 special education) to 20 buses, including 7 in-town, 7 rural, and 6 special education buses. This expansion marks the first time in-town busing has been offered.

Staff Retention

To further support our dedicated staff, we implemented a $3,000 retention bonus for all K-12 professional staff, reinforcing our commitment to retaining talented educators within our district. These initiatives underscore our focus on growth and improvement as we work to provide the best possible educational experience for our students.

Williston Basin Career and Technical Education (CTE) Center

The construction of the Williston Basin Career and Technical Center & Del Easton High School Building was completed on time and within the established budget, ensuring it was ready to open for the 2024-2025 school year.

The new CTE Center will expand program offerings for students in Williston and surrounding areas, helping to alleviate crowding at Williston High School. Additionally, relocating the Del Easton Alternative School to the CTE Center will provide a more integrated and supportive environment for Del Easton students, enhancing their educational experience.
