Title VI Information

The Title VI Indian Education Formula Grant Program is designed to support the education of American Indian and Alaska Native students.

The program provides funds to schools and local education agencies to meet the unique educational and culturally related academic needs of these students.

Note: Funding can only be used directly for students who have filled out the associated 506 form.

  • Purpose
    The grant program aims to improve the academic performance and cultural understanding of American Indian and Alaska Native students by offering specialized programs and activities.

  • Funding
    Schools and local education agencies receive formula grants based on the number of eligible Indian students enrolled. These funds are used to design and implement educational programs that address the specific needs of these students.

    The grants support various programs, including:

    • Culturally relevant curriculum and materials.

    • Tutoring and academic support services.

    • College and career readiness programs.

    • Professional development for educators on culturally responsive teaching methods.

  • Community Involvement
    The program emphasizes the importance of involving parents and the community in the planning and implementation of educational programs to ensure they are culturally appropriate and effective.

    The overall goal of the Title VI Indian Education Formula Grant Program is to help American Indian and Alaska Native students achieve academic success while preserving and promoting their cultural heritage.

4-day experience on the VCSU campus
Arrive Sunday at 4:00 PM - Depart Thursday at 2:00 PM
Application closes April 25, 2025Summer

Going into 7th grade for the 2025-26 school year: June 1-5, 2025
Going into 8th grade for the 2025-26 school year: June 8-12, 2025
Going into 9th or 10th grade for the 2025-26 school year: June 15-19, 2025
Going into 11th or 12th grade for the 2025-26 school year: June 22-26, 2025
