Following the passing of school board director Mr. John Kasmer in January 2025, the Williston Basin School District #7 School Board has voted to fill the remainder of his term, which runs through June 30, 2025, by appointing a qualified individual.

There will not be a voting process for this short-term, temporary position; the school board will make the appointment.

Note: If the appointed individual wishes to serve beyond June 30, 2025, they must file for candidacy and run in the regular school board election on June 3, 2025.

Community members interested in being considered for this appointment are encouraged to submit the required documents outlined below by the deadline specified.

Qualifications:
- A U.S. Citizen
- At least 18 years old on the day of the election
- A North Dakota resident
- A resident in the school district for at least the past 30 days
(Applicant must meet all qualifications)

Submission Deadline:
All submissions must be received by 4:00 PM CST on February 25, 2025.

Selection Timeline:
- February 26, 2025: Submitted applications will be provided to board members for review.
- February 28, 2025, at 12:00 PM: The board will hold a special meeting to appoint the new school board member.

Appointed Term:
February 28, 2025 through June 30, 2025
