October 17th & 18th, Get Ready to Rock the Ridge!
In connection with Get Your Teach On, Missouri Ridge is hosting a Rock Your School event on Monday, October 17th and Tuesday, October 18th.
On Monday, we will be showing our Rockin' Spirit with a Decade Themed dress up day. We will have some music-themed work in the classrooms, and a visit from a secret opening act to help with our school-wide room escape. Students will also work on warming up their vocal chords to practice for a performance that will bring down the house!
On Tuesday, students will dress like they wanna be big rock stars and strike a pose at our PTO Paparazzi Photo Booth. Throughout the day, students will embark on a Kindness Rocks! Scavenger Hunt and participate in fun and innovative educational and collaborative games with a rock and roll theme. In the morning, students will heed the call of the musical muse and compete by grade levels in a Classroom Karaoke Competition. In the afternoon, the winners of each grade level will put on Encore performances to determine the overall Missouri Ridge Classroom Karaoke Champions, with prizes provided by our Rocking PTO. We will end with an awesome presentation by our STEM department!
We would love to see everyone get into the spirit of Rock Your School. The Get Your Teach On website describes Rock Your School as "a source of fun & joy, a reminder of what we love about our role as educators, and a time to intentionally build community within our classrooms and schools." In the spirit of building community, we would love to have our community come support these Rock Stars during the Classroom Karaoke Competitions! The morning performances for grade levels will be open to families, and the Encore Performances starting at 1:15 will be open to all of our Rocking Community!
